Jacque Newman is a freelance writer with a specialty in family pets of all kinds.

She is the founder and former publisher of Toronto-based "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs!" - a bi-monthly newspaper for dogs and their owners.

Jacque's weekly column, "UrbanAnimal," appears on InsideToronto, Metroland Publishing's website, and under the "Animail" banner appearing in Owen Sound Sun-Times newspaper. Her writing has also appeared in "For Love of Cats" magazine.

A six-time nominee and three-time Maxwell award winner for feature articles from Dog Writers Assoc. of America (DWAA), Jacque is also a current member of Cat Writers' Assoc. (CWA).

She started her working life in print production at a variety of ad agencies, co-owned a motorcycle shop, and taught ballet to children and adults.

A long-time pet owner and animal lover, Jacque lives in Toronto with her husband, Art, one gorgeous golden retriever, one beautiful Irish setter/golden retriever-mix, two crazy cats and one skunk who has taken up residence under the porch.
